Job Title: Accounting Coordinator
Classification: Non-Exempt, Salaried
Reports To: Director of Finance & HR
Position Summary
The Accounting Coordinator supports DMEC’s core accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting. This role manages accounts receivable and payable, account reconciliations, and the customer order entry, invoicing, and payment follow‑up, in close collaboration with the Director of Finance & HR.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable / receivable and account reconciliations.
- Posts cash receipts to QuickBooks Online and Nimble/Salesforce.
- Process customer orders for membership, educational products, and event registrations and cancellations.
- Process and apply member payments, refunds, and registration changes in Nimble/Salesforce.
- Manages customer procurement requirements.
- Manages weekly Nimble/Salesforce batch export and import.
- Manages QuickBooks Online bank feed.
- Manages vendors in QuickBooks Online and Ramp including issuing Vendor Code of Conduct to new vendors, obtaining federal W-9 and ACH banking information.
- Collection of outstanding receivables.
- Assists with preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Assists with annual audit, responding to auditor inquiries, preparing schedules, and compiling documentation.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit accounting preferred.
- Must have strong QuickBooks Online experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks Online, Nimble/Salesforce, Adobe, and data management systems.
- Basic understanding of accounts receivable and payable and procedures
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team
- Comfortable working independently in a virtual environment.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to interact with senior executives and external partners.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Work Environment
- This is a remote position. A quiet home office is required.
- Travel to meetings as required 2 times per year.
Salary & Benefits:
This is a summary of the current basic employment benefits. Individual benefit programs may be amended or deleted at management’s sole discretion at any time. An employee handbook will be provided to you with more complete benefit information about DMEC’s benefit plans upon hire.
Employees are eligible on the date of hire for the following benefits:
- 40 hours of paid sick leave per calendar year, unless a greater amount is required under state of local law
- 4.62 vacation hours accrued per pay period (3 weeks per year)

Equipment:
