Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking an Administrative Specialist for the Boiler Inspection Section within the Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction. The role involves providing administrative support for the statewide licensing and permitting program for Boilers and Pressure Vessels, including coordinating licenses, assisting with inspections, and interpreting regulations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates, reviews, and approves Boiler and Pressure Vessel licenses
- Assists staff with the permitting and inspection program
- Interprets laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to agency staff and public
- Prepares reports for management
- Provides technical support to office staff, field staff and the public
- Maintains files and documentation for the section
Skills
- Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree
- One year of professional, administrative, or business experience
- Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
- Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis
- Working knowledge of HBC licensing regulations
- Experience working in SmartGov
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
