**Job Summary:**
As a Part-time Data Entry / ROI Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in managing the secure and compliant release of medical records and health information for patients, authorized individuals, and third-party entities. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and organizational policies in handling requests for health records, while maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patient information.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Operate a data entry device to process/input and verify a variety of standard coded or uncoded customer business and/or statistical source data into a computer.
* Manage the secure and compliant release of medical records and health information for patients, authorized individuals, and third-party entities.
* Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and organizational policies in handling requests for health records.
* Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patient information.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely processing of medical records.
* Develop and maintain knowledge of medical records systems, terminology, and HIPAA regulations.
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
**Requirements and Competencies:**
* 1-3 years of experience in healthcare, preferably in health information management or a release of information role.
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
* Familiarity with medical records systems and terminology.
* Prior experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and document management is a plus.
* Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and other privacy laws related to patient information required.
* Certified Health Information Technician (CHIT) or Certified Release of Information (ROI) Specialist certification preferred.
