The Global Merchant and Network Services (GM&NS) Pricing team at arenaflex is responsible for driving the single largest source of revenue for the company: Merchant Discount Income. Our team works closely with colleagues across the organization to determine the optimal pricing strategy that enables merchant acceptance of arenaflex while improving inclusion and merchant satisfaction. By leveraging client-driven pricing standards, more flexible pricing engineering, and innovative pricing solutions, we drive GM&NS income and profit growth.
**The Financial Analyst of Planning and Research – Canada is a key role within the GM&NS Pricing team, responsible for determining and reporting merchant discount income. This role offers a unique opportunity to impact multiple organizations and stakeholders by aligning the company's objective for efficient charge volume and merchant growth, essential for the strength of our business.**
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Develop a Canada figure for merchant discount income, tracking monthly performance against forecast and identifying drivers of change
* Create vendor discount income scorecards for the Canada region
* Drive normalization and process improvement among the different local pricing teams for all reporting and determining related activities
* Support external reviews, including investigating issues found, communicating with the regional pricing teams that manage the merchant relationship to discuss issues, and managing goals
* Perform ad-hoc data analysis to assess rebate rate trends and uncover insights
**Essential Qualifications:**
* 2 years' experience in financial services or payments industry, and/or other finance-related roles
* Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in finance/Accounting/Business preferred
* High proficiency with Excel is required
* Strong attention to detail and organization
* Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and draw value-added insights from large datasets
* Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SAS/SQL) is required
* Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
* Strong relationship with management and collaboration skills with the ability to influence others in situations where there may be multiple objectives
* Strong work ethic with an extreme will-to-win, ability to succeed in a high-speed, dynamic team environment, which places an emphasis on driving results
* An innovative thinker who will challenge conventional approaches and develop new ways to tackle old challenges
* Strong project management skills with full ownership from analysis through to execution
* Enthusiastic focus on the client; demonstrated willingness to understand and address client needs and pain points
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
* Knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting techniques
* Experience with process improvement and change management initiatives
* Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements
