Introduction to the Role

We're seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sourcing and Supply Chain Specialist to join our team as an intern. As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing purchase requests, tracking delivery status, providing guidance to data center teams, and managing invoices. You will also handle sourcing requests for capacity deployment for Twitter's growing hardware fleet. Key Responsibilities

Create Purchase Requisitions for data center hardware and services, solving issues with Oracle IT/Procurement, and supporting month-end inventory close.

Follow up with suppliers on purchase order delivery status, addressing delivery discrepancies and documentation, and providing weekly supply updates to the Demand team on server deliveries.

Resolve purchase order invoice issues with suppliers and Accounts Payable.

Oversee items delivered to the data center, ensuring they are received in Oracle.

Implement process improvements and automation where necessary to reduce cycle time from request to purchase order.

Manage internal customer requests for requisition, tracking all steps within the workflow up to receipt in Oracle.

Work with network and data center teams on tracking delivery to the Point of Presence (POP).

Manage and work with the Fixed Assets team to coordinate with 3rd party vendor resources for out-of-point-of-presence (POP) location logistics of shipments to/from POPs, as well as various logistics needs.

Lead data analysis, including service renewals and cost updates.

Maintain and publish business metrics for data center server and network hardware purchases.

Review buy requirements and purchase order status at vendor operations meetings.

Develop and maintain accurate and complete standard operating procedures.

Create part numbers for new items in Oracle, ensuring the proper part number taxonomy is followed.

Support the MCE Team with CapEx and OpEx purchase requests for power utilization, rent, and other miscellaneous requests.

Manage your quarterly and year's goals and operational key results.

Essential Qualifications

4+ years of experience working in Supply Chain or equivalent logistics/purchasing/sourcing roles.

2+ years of experience working with Advanced Excel reports.

Well-organized and detail-oriented, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Educational Background: Engineering or BS College Degree or equivalent, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

A quick learner and self-starter in a fast-paced, subject-to-change environment.

Preferred Requirements

Experience working with vendors within the Data Center, Telecommunications, or Hardware Commodity industries.

Working knowledge of networking concepts, Points of Presence (POPs), as well as routers and switching hardware.

The expected salary range for this role is USD$167,000.00 – USD$234,000.00, depending on experience and qualifications.
