JOB SUMMARY We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Fiber Splicer / Field Operations Technician to join our nationwide team. This full-time, travel-based role is critical to the deployment and maintenance of high-performance fiber optic networks across the country. The ideal candidate will have practical, in-the-field experience with fiber optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting, and be comfortable working independently in dynamic environments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Install, splice, and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables and connectors - Perform OTDR, power meter, and light source testing for end-to-end validation - Interpret fiber optic schematics, splice plans, and network diagrams - Conduct troubleshooting and resolve technical issues efficiently in the field - Complete preventative maintenance and report potential infrastructure issues - Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all work performed - Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project teams to support deployments - Manage and maintain inventory of fiber optic tools, test gear, and consumables - Follow all safety protocols and adhere to company and industry quality standards REQUIREMENTS - High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred - Proven field experience with fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing - Strong understanding of OTDRs, power meters, fusion splicers, and related equipment - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail - Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) - Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision - Flexible schedule – must be able to work evenings, weekends, or on-call as needed - Comfortable with extensive nationwide travel (3–4 weeks at a time) WHAT WE OFFER - Competitive pay - Paid travel and per diem - Opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding telecom company - A supportive team that values quality, safety, and professionalism HOW TO APPLY If you’re passionate about fiber optics, thrive in the field, and are ready to travel and grow with a company that values your work, we want to hear from you.
