Position Summary
We are seeking an HR Consultant for an hourly, 1099 contract role supporting compliance and HRIS administration. Our ideal candidate has extensive experience with Rippling and a strong understanding of compliance requirements across various states, including state tax and worker’s compensation regulations. This is a part-time consulting position requiring an estimated 5 to 12 hours per week.
Responsibilities Include:
Completing key employment changes within Rippling, such as new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and compensation adjustments
Managing and resolving state tax registration, worker’s compensation, and compliance tasks across multiple jurisdictions
Ensuring ongoing HR compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Assisting in the development, documentation, and improvement of HR workflows and processes, especially within Rippling and ClickUp
Generating and analyzing HR reports from Rippling to support data-driven decision-making
Providing guidance on HR best practices and compliance matters
Desired Qualifications
Proven expertise and hands-on experience with Rippling
Extensive knowledge of multi-state employment law and HR compliance requirements (federal, state, and local)
Demonstrated experience with state tax registration and maintenance for employers across various states
Strong understanding of worker's compensation processes and regulations.
Proficiency in processing a variety of employment changes accurately and efficiently
Experience with HR workflow optimization and reporting
Prior experience in an HR consulting or contract role in a start-up environment is a plus
