Key Responsibilities
- Travel to various locations within the AMA ESD region to provide on-site support for students and special education providers
- Identify and set up quiet and private areas for virtual sessions, ensuring minimal distractions and optimal learning environments
- Engage in regular communication with special education providers to confirm session details, technology requirements, and student needs
- Transport and set up necessary technology, including computers, cameras, and audio equipment, to facilitate virtual sessions
- Log students into virtual sessions, test audio and video connections, and troubleshoot technical issues as needed
- Supervise students during virtual sessions, acting as the "hands" of the examiner and providing support as directed by the provider
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district policies and procedures regarding student data and privacy
- Communicate any observed irregularities or concerns to the special education provider, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal disruption to services
- Return student materials to providers as directed, ensuring timely and secure transfer of sensitive information
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Michigan Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Prior experience working with children preferred, but not required
- Coursework in child development or a related field preferred, but not required
- Basic computer knowledge, including internet awareness and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, providers, and district staff
- Ability to pass a criminal history check and maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity
