About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Purchasing Manager to lead and optimize our procurement operations. This role requires a strong data-driven leader who can take ownership of purchasing strategy, cost control, forecasting, and supplier negotiations.
The ideal candidate is someone who lives in the numbers, understands margins deeply, and knows how to build efficient procurement systems that directly impact profitability.
This role reports directly to the CEO and plays a critical part in strengthening operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze purchasing data, sales trends, and inventory levels to determine procurement needs
• Identify pricing gaps, cost inefficiencies, and margin improvement opportunities
• Build and maintain accurate purchasing forecasts
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and supplier agreements to maximize profitability
• Lead and manage the purchasing team to ensure performance and accountability
• Monitor supplier performance and vendor relationships
• Implement purchasing controls and improve procurement workflows
• Provide executive-level reporting and insights to the CEO
Qualifications
• 6+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management
• 3-4 years of experience managing and leading a purchasing or procurement team
• Strong background in data analysis and purchasing analytics
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, forecasting models); experience with BI tools or analytics platforms is a plus
• Proven ability to analyze large datasets to identify cost gaps, pricing opportunities, supplier performance issues, and inventory risks
• Experience building purchasing forecasts based on sales trends, demand patterns, and financial targets
• Demonstrated success in driving cost savings through data-driven negotiation strategies
• Strong financial acumen with understanding of margins, cash flow impact, and working capital
• Experience working with physical product businesses and inventory-based operations
• Ability to translate complex data insights into clear strategic decisions
Preferred Experience
• Background in e-commerce businesses (DTC and/or marketplace platforms such as Amazon or Walmart)
• Experience in growth-stage or operationally complex businesses

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
