About the position We are seeking a Reinsurance Analyst to join our Reinsurance Accounting team. In this role, you will support the day-to-day reinsurance accounting function by managing a high volume of reinsurance programs, processing program updates, reviewing reports, reconciling data, and ensuring timely and accurate handling of all reinsurance accounting activities. As part of a dynamic team, you will work both independently and collaboratively with internal departments and external partners to resolve issues, enhance reporting accuracy, and maintain compliance with contract terms. Responsibilities • Independently manage, review, and process all reinsurance accounting matters for 60+ reinsurance programs, including identifying and resolving program issues. • Track, review, and respond to incoming correspondence such as reports, payments, queries, and other reinsurance accounting items. • Maintain full ownership of assigned programs, including tracking program information, updates, renewals, and terminations, and ensuring timely updates to program term checklists. • Review and interpret reinsurance contract terms and program requirements related to accounting and reporting. • Create and manage diaries for tracking outstanding reports, payments, and follow-ups with clients, brokers, and internal teams. • Maintain accuracy of the reinsurance tracker, updating statuses for outstanding, received, and paid reports. • Review incoming premium bordereau reports, performing advanced Excel analysis to ensure proper premium allocation and resolve discrepancies. • Identify inconsistencies between program terms and reports and work with external partners or internal team members to correct issues. • Follow up and track all reinsurance accounting program matters to ensure timely issue resolution. • File reviewed reports in ImageRight and automation folders for internal records and data extraction. • Prepare coversheets or calculations for premium booking and submit tasks to Operations for invoicing. • Monitor incoming correspondence and ImageRight daily to ensure all reports and payments are processed timely. • Review ImageRight “To-Do List” daily and send invoice numbers to Accounts Receivable for processing. • Collaborate with internal teams to support program setup, reporting requirements, payment terms, ad hoc reporting, and issue resolution. • Clearly and accurately communicate program issues to internal and external stakeholders. • Use Infinity and PeopleSoft systems to review policy and claims data, confirm accuracy, process payments, and generate needed reports. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Reinsurance, or a related field; or equivalent education/experience. • Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in Accounting, Reinsurance, or Finance; Infinity and PeopleSoft experience preferred. • Strong knowledge of GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles. • Ability to apply accounting and reinsurance concepts, practices, and procedures. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism. • Advanced organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently. • Proactive awareness of industry, legal, and technical developments. • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
