Senior IT Project Manager – Enterprise System Implementations

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead large-scale enterprise system implementations within a growing Enterprise Information Technology organization. This role will be responsible for managing complex transformation initiatives, including ERP and HCM implementations such as Workday HR, Payroll, Recruiting, and other enterprise platforms.
Over the next several years, the organization will be executing multiple enterprise transformation programs, including ERP and HCM implementations and upgrades. The hiring manager is specifically seeking a strong project leader who has successfully delivered enterprise-scale ERP, HCM, or similarly complex system implementations and can guide these initiatives from planning through deployment.
This role requires someone who can confidently manage the day-to-day execution responsibilities of a Senior Project Manager while also navigating executive-level visibility, communication, and stakeholder alignment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across business and technical teams and partnering with executive leadership to ensure the successful delivery of enterprise initiatives.
Key Skills & Experience
• Proven experience leading enterprise system implementations, including ERP, HCM, or comparable large-scale enterprise platforms
• Experience with HCM systems such as Workday (HR, Payroll, Recruiting) or other enterprise HR platforms
• Ability to manage complex cross-functional initiatives involving IT, HR, Finance, Operations, and external implementation partners
• Strong executive communication skills with experience presenting project status and risks to senior leadership and steering committees
• Demonstrated experience delivering large technology implementations with significant organizational impact
• Ability to align technical teams, business stakeholders, and system integrators to drive successful project outcomes
• Strong risk identification, mitigation, and dependency management across complex programs
• Experience working within PMO governance frameworks and structured project delivery environments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting timelines within enterprise environments
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex enterprise IT initiatives, including ERP and HCM implementations and major enterprise applications
• Manage the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, governance, risk management, and delivery
• Partner with executive leadership and business stakeholders to ensure alignment between project outcomes and organizational goals
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across IT, HR, Finance, Operations, and third-party implementation partners
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
• Facilitate project governance including steering committees, status reporting, and executive communications
• Oversee critical implementation phases including requirements, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and change management
• Manage vendor and system integrator relationships to ensure delivery milestones are met
• Identify and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and issues throughout the implementation lifecycle
• Ensure compliance with documentation standards, governance requirements, and audit expectations
• Support organizational change management associated with major system implementations
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field
• 7+ years of IT Project Management experience, including enterprise system implementations
• Demonstrated experience leading ERP, HCM, or other complex enterprise platform implementations
• Experience managing large SaaS implementations and enterprise integrations
• PMP certification required
• Healthcare experience is highly preferred
• Experience managing large cross-functional teams, enterprise programs, and vendor-led implementations
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills
• Experience working in regulated environments such as healthcare or financial services is a plus
• Ability to lead initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Project or Smartsheet, Visio, and collaboration tools
