Commercial Underwriter Internship
Alchemy Insurance Solutions, LLC is a specialty MGA focused on underwriting niche & customizable
programs tailored to fit market needs and capacity demands. We offer a full suite of insurance
services with a proven distribution strategy designed around long-term profitable growth.
Our Interns may work with multiple departments performing a wide array of supportive tasks.
Reports to: AVP of Commercial Underwriting
Our ideal candidate will have:
• Basic understanding of Commercial Insurance, Product offerings, and Underwriting
Fundamentals.
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills, is highly detail-oriented, and possess sound decisionmaking abilities.
• Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate Windows Operating systems skills; basic Excel skills.

Intern duties:
• Provide support to agents and underwriters by pre-screening applications according to
underwriting guidelines.
• Become familiar with rating platform and rate quotes for agents and underwriters.
• Monitor incoming quotes and communicate with team on prioritization.
• Pre-underwrite risks based on company's guidelines and provide recommendations to
Underwriter for next steps.
• Assist with the post-bind submission review ensuring file documentation is complete.
• Listens and observes employee communications with agents and others for the purpose of
improving product knowledge and customer service skills.
