Sales Specialist – Energy & Power Solutions (Chicago Metro, Remote/Hybrid)
1) About The Postion
We’re hiring a part-time, commission-based Sales Manager to grow energy & power solution sales across the Chicago Metro / Midwest region.
This role is strongest for candidates familiar with industrial power distribution, manufacturing facilities, and EPC-led procurement.
You’ll engage industrial buyers, electrical contractors, EPC/engineering firms, and distributors, converting project needs into RFQs/quotations and contract wins.
We provide end-to-end delivery support from technical solution matching to supply and integration coordination.
Priority areas: Chicago / Naperville / Aurora / Gary (flexible).
Priority segments
• Manufacturing and industrial plants
• Utility-adjacent contractors and EPC firms
• MV/LV upgrades, modernization and retrofit projects
• Regional distributors serving industrial accounts
2) Role Summary
We are hiring a part-time, commission-based Sales Manager to develop B2B opportunities in the energy & power sector within your assigned metro area.
This is a consultative sales role focused on converting qualified demand into RFQs/quotations, coordinating technical proposals with our teams, and closing contracts supported by SolutionMall’s end-to-end delivery (solution matching → supply coordination → integration support → delivery).
Employment Type: Part-time (flexible hours)
Compensation Model: Commission-based (1%–2% of contract amount, minimum 1%; depends on product category and deal type)
3) Key Responsibilities
A) Business Development (B2B)
• Identify and engage qualified prospects: system integrators, EPC/engineering firms, electrical contractors, distributors, and industrial/commercial buyers.
• Qualify opportunities by discovering requirements, mapping stakeholders, and defining project scope/timeline.
• Convert demand into actionable opportunities by initiating RFQs, gathering required information, and supporting quotations.
B) Proposal Coordination & Deal Execution
• Coordinate internally with China-based technical/supply teams to ensure accurate solution matching and timely proposal delivery.
• Drive follow-ups, negotiation, and closing actions across medium/long sales cycles.
• Maintain basic CRM-style tracking (pipeline, decision makers, next steps, and risks).
C) Market Feedback & Partner Collaboration
• Share market feedback: pricing expectations, buyer behavior, competitor alternatives, and high-potential verticals.
• Support partner collaboration when relevant (distributors, integrators, contractors) to improve lead quality and conversion.
4) Qualifications
Must-have
• 3+ years of experience in B2B sales / business development for technical products or solutions.
• Comfortable with consultative selling: lead qualification, requirement discovery, RFQ/quotation handling, and proposal coordination.
• Strong communication and follow-up discipline; able to work remotely and coordinate across time zones.
• English proficiency (written and spoken).
Nice-to-have
• Experience in energy & power related scope: MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, protection & control, substation-related equipment, renewable energy, industrial power systems.
• Existing network in one or more of the following: integrators, EPCs, electrical contractors, distributors, industrial/commercial buyers.
• Additional languages are a plus (depending on the metro area).
Work Style
• Self-driven and reliable follow-up; comfortable with performance-based compensation.
• Able to keep clean notes and pipeline records (basic CRM tracking is enough).
5) Performance & Success Metrics
You will be measured on:
• Number of qualified meetings and validated opportunities created per month
• Number and value of RFQs / quotations supported
• Number of closed-won deals (contract value)
• Pipeline quality and follow-up discipline (clean opportunity data, clear next steps)
6) Compensation & Benefits
Commission-based
• 1%–2% of contract amount (minimum 1%), depending on product category and deal type.
• Commission paid based on confirmed contract and payment milestones (aligned with delivery terms).
Operating support (performance-based)
• For active contributors who conduct client visits and maintain a consistent pipeline, we may provide a monthly allowance to support work-related expenses (phone/transportation), subject to performance and local compliance.
Official certification
• Once collaboration is established and you begin formal client-facing activities, we will issue an official Sales / Cooperation Manager Certification and a verified status in our internal system.
