About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join Google's hybrid workforce, with the flexibility to work from home or in one of our offices located in Mountain View, CA, USA; Los Angeles, CA, USA; New York, NY, USA; San Diego, CA, USA; or Sunnyvale, CA, USA. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, developing predictive models, and driving business growth through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and clarify business or product questions to answer, and provide feedback to translate and refine business questions into tractable evaluations, assessment metrics, or mathematical models.
- Design and evaluate models to mathematically express and solve described problems with constrained precedent, using specialized knowledge and custom data infrastructure or existing data models as appropriate.
- Acquire data, business needs, priorities, and organizational context around the questions to answer, as well as the present and upcoming data infrastructure.
- Own the process of gathering, extracting, and compiling data across sources through applicable tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python), and independently format, re-shape, and/or validate data to ensure quality.
- Analyze datasets to ensure they are ready for analysis, and evaluate the results to inform business decisions.
Minimal Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Records, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or 8 years of work experience with a Ph.D. degree.
Preferred Qualifications

Compensation and Benefits
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $216,000-$317,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary levels are determined by role, level, and location. In addition to competitive compensation, you will have access to a range of benefits, including:
