About the Role
We’re hiring a Senior kdb+ Developer for a leading data solutions provider specializing in financial services. The focus of this role is to lead the design and implementation of high-performance kdb+ architectures, ensuring scalability and reliability in production environments.
This is a permanent, full-time, Remote. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned kdb+ professional with proven leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to deliver impactful solutions in fast-paced, data-driven financial settings.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading technical delivery on client projects, setting the standard for quality and performance
- Designing and implementing robust kdb+ architectures that handle billions of rows of time-series data
- Collaborating with quants, traders, and analysts to translate business needs into performant, efficient code
- Mentoring and guiding junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence
- Owning the full development lifecycle — developing, testing, supporting, and maintaining code for client applications
- Driving innovation by staying ahead of the curve in kdb+, q, and adjacent technologies
Must-Have Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on kdb+ development, with deep expertise in q and time-series data
- Proven experience in designing and scaling kdb+ systems in production
- Strong background in Unix/Linux environments and scripting
- Demonstrated technical leadership and decision-making in fast-paced projects
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex systems to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in capital markets or investment banking, with an understanding of its demands
- A passion for clean, performant code and continuous improvement
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Python and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Familiarity with other time-series databases
- Exposure to tick data, real-time analytics, or electronic trading systems
- Prior team leadership or people management experience
