Senior Service Technician
Location: Remote
A leading provider of intelligent transportation solutions is seeking a skilled and service-driven Senior Service Technician to support customers using advanced intersection control and central traffic management systems.
In this hands-on, customer-facing role, you will leverage your expertise in traffic signal cabinets, field hardware, and control software to troubleshoot complex issues, support system installations and commissioning, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges. You will also play a key role in delivering product training, providing responsive technical support, and ensuring deployed systems operate at the highest level of performance.
This role is ideal for an experienced traffic signal technician who enjoys combining field expertise with customer engagement and technical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop deep expertise in the company’s intersection control and central traffic management system products.
- Perform release testing of intersection control and dynamic traffic software across multiple cabinet environments.
- Troubleshoot and debug technical issues, working closely with software development and engineering teams to resolve customer challenges.
- Deliver product training sessions for customers and partners, both remotely and on-site.
- Provide responsive technical support via phone, in person, and through internal support/ticketing systems.
- Build strong working relationships with distributor and agency traffic signal technicians.
- Support installation, commissioning, and configuration of traffic management solutions.
- Assist with hardware assembly, diagnostics, and RMA processing when required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a traffic signal technician.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of NTCIP 1202-compliant intersection control software.
- Strong understanding of NEMA, ATC, and TEES traffic signal cabinet types.
- Extensive electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics experience.
Preferred Competencies
- Experience working with public sector transportation or traffic management agencies.
- Familiarity with adaptive traffic signal control systems.
- IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level III certification preferred.
- Experience in a customer-facing technical support role.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver technical training and support.
