The Accountant will contribute to the month-end close process, prepare financial statements, and assist with various accounting functions to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to month end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial data is in compliance with GAAP
- Review monthly financial statements of multiple entities to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Prepare month end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Research variances in key account balances and explain variances between actuals and budget
- Assist with shared service accounting functions including general ledger accounting, corporate accounting, intercompany, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, etc
- Learn and assist in training and implementation of our ERP system
- Ensure compliance with established company policies and procedures and incorporate procedural improvements to optimize efficiency
- Create ad-hoc financial reports and data analysis as required to support business objectives
- Assist with annual financial and internal control audits
- Provide on-going support to various business partners
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with minimum of 1 year of applicable experience
- CPA candidate highly preferred
- Public accounting audit experience preferred
- Working knowledge of fully integrated ERP systems
- In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Strong PC skills with proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- CPA candidate highly preferred
- Public accounting audit experience preferred
