Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care according to hospital protocols and clinician orders, ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our patients.
- Assist with various medical procedures, including phlebotomy, intravenous and urinary catheter placement, and medication administration, under the supervision of veterinarians.
- Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and follow-up surgical or diagnostic procedures, using various monitoring equipment such as pulse oximetry, ECG, and non-invasive blood pressure monitors.
- Support the educational mission of the hospital by advising, guiding, and mentoring DVM students throughout your shift, sharing your knowledge and expertise to enhance their learning experience.
- Continuously develop your basic and advanced clinical skills, staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and best practices in veterinary care.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and other animal care professionals to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
Qualifications and Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Associate degree from an AVMA-accredited institution, demonstrating a strong foundation in veterinary technology.
- Expected to obtain NYS licensure within 3 months of hire; up to 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent combination is preferred.
