Job Summary
We're seeking an energetic, motivated, and compassionate individual to join our team as a Preschool Paraprofessional. As a key member of our early childhood education team, you will provide critical support to students with a range of disabilities, working closely with our experienced educators to implement individualized education plans and promote academic, social, and emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities
As a Preschool Paraprofessional at White Pine, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting students with diverse needs, including those with physical, emotional, communication, and developmental delays
- Supporting the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and helping students achieve their academic and social goals
- Providing personal care and assistance with daily living activities, such as hygiene, toileting, and feeding
- Helping students develop socialization skills and build relationships with peers
- Assisting with physical and occupational therapy activities, as needed
- Maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment, including cleaning and preparing materials
- Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to ensure seamless support for students
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this rewarding role, you will need:
Essential Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or a minimum of 32 college credits
- Alternatively, passing the ParaPro test (for more information, please contact Nicole Gee at 208-878-6600)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Physical stamina to engage in activities with young children
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children with disabilities
- Knowledge of early childhood education and child development principles
- Experience with adaptive equipment and assistive technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
