About the Role
As a Food and Consumables Coach at Walmart, you'll play a vital role in driving sales, customer satisfaction, and team development in our stores. You'll lead and develop high-performing teams, model exceptional customer service standards, and drive financial performance in your designated store area. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Develop High-Performing Teams: Teach, train, and mentor associates to achieve business objectives and drive sales growth. Tour stores, provide feedback, and communicate effectively with all levels of associates to ensure seamless execution.
- Model Exceptional Customer Service: Demonstrate the One Best Way (OBW) service model, manage customer service initiatives, and ensure customer needs are met. Develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies and drive process improvements.
- Drive Financial Performance: Review and evaluate P&L statements, manage budgeting and forecasting, and control expenses to drive sales and profit growth. Monitor merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, and inventory flow to ensure effective operational processes.
- Supervise and Develop Hourly Associates: Hire, train, and mentor associates, assign duties, and provide recognition to drive associate engagement and retention. Ensure diversity and inclusion awareness and recruit qualified associates to meet staffing needs.
- Coordinate and Complete Job-Related Activities: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, support plans and initiatives, and identify and communicate goals and objectives. Build accountability and measure progress in achieving results.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet the following minimum qualifications:
- 2 years' of college; OR
- 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience; OR
- 2 years' general work experience and 1 year's supervisory experience.
Additionally, you'll be required to complete a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training if you're working in a facility that sells firearms.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following preferred qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
